Monday random: things I don’t understand

1. Glee. I know. I know. You all adore it. I just don’t understand. I tried. I really did. But yeah…no.

2. How THIS can be called easy. Is not easy. Liz? I think we need to discuss my definition of easy cooking again.

3. Why I can’t find my dang magic wand, so I can have a month of Sundays.

4. Award shows. Golden Globes, Oscars, MTV music awards. I’ve never understood. Maybe I just don’t care. You are famous, you get more free stuff than anyone should, you make tons of money and I should want to watch you get awards now too? Awards that basically mean nothing?

5. Why I bought an iPhone case yesterday at Borders, when I won’t get an iPhone until July.

6. The Real Housewives of Hogwarts. Truly. How many of those shows can their be? Do you know anyone who acts like that in real life? I sure as hell don’t. They should have a REAL real housewives show. I’d be on it. They can watch me call grilled cheese and carrots sticks dinner, play Bejeweled, yell at the dog for barking at falling leaves and every car that drives by the house, change gross diapers, retrieve Mater from under the couch for Harrison fifteen times a day, argue with my eight year old about her not reading Twilight yet again, explain to my five year old every. single. morning the difference between winter and summer clothes (which hai, I put the summer clothes AWAY, so STOP going into the basement and getting them), fold laundry…okay fine, wash clothes and then put them on random chairs and leave it there for a week. Interesting? NO. However, at least it would be a bit more real.

7. Why everyone thinks I’m secretly freaking out about turning 30 this year. Dude, I could care less about turning 30 this year. I am however freaking out about other things. You know… loss of a 16 year relationship/nearly 11 year marriage. Wanna talk about that? No? Okay cool, then lets discuss how life ends at 30. I just don’t understand. It’s a day. One day. That’s it. Dude, there will be cake right? So yes, I am all for turning 30 if there is cake.

8. Why I am suddenly getting golf magazine. I’ve never played golf.

That’s it for today. Any of you have things you don’t understand right now? Maybe we can help each other figure this stuff out.

That’s it. We can no longer be friends if you don’t like Glee.

    KIDDING! I had to. ;)

As for turning 30, I was TOTALLY FINE with it, right up until an hour before my birthday when I freaked the f*ck out – seriously: Level 5 Melt Down of Epic Proportions. lol However! It’s really no big deal. It’s just a number; we ALL age. *smooch*

@Chibi Jeebs, DUDE, you so luffs me. You knows it. ;) Glee…is not a deal breaker, right?

Well seeing how my birthday isn’t for three more months, I think I have time to freak a bit. I just don’t get why saying i will be 30 this year makes people so weird.

I love Glee and most awards shows! I totally had a breakdown at 30, it lasted about a month. I’m totally over it and ok with it now. LOL

It IS easy. I swear. Use the food processor to chop the onions. And then you just cook them on low heat. For a while… And make open-face cheese sandwiches. Done. It’s totally worth it. Promise!!

Oh, and if they made a ‘Real Housewives of Hogwarts’, I would TOTALLY watch that.

30 is no biggie. And princess cake makes it all better anyway.

@Liz, I couldn’t remember where all those dang shows take place, since I don’t watch them. Hogwarts seemed like a good choice.

Princess cake is…yes. AWESOME. I’d make that a bigger font if I could.

I think it was the cook and stir for 35 minutes that makes me weary.

Well, I’m having a breakdown currently (my kitchen is a disaster and I won’t go in there because I’m crying, so I figured I check out my reader)…because I’m throwing away sippy cups. Yes, I’m bawling over sippy cups.

30 isn’t bad. I’m still sure I’m dying this year because I’m 33, and you know, that’s when Jesus gave it up.

GLEE? We might need to have an intervention.

You stay in my prayers daily….I’ll get through the sippy cups and you’ll get through your hurt. We can do it together (There’s a lot more to the sippy cup than just it being a cup…as there is to your marriage…)

Anyway, I’ve taken up enough time. love you big much.

@Heather, I think I understand the sippy cup thing. And sweetie? HUGE hugs. Truly. It seems so small, but I know that it’s not.

Honey, you aren’t taking up time. Promise. Love comment and adore you. xoxo.

Hey uh ps? So the Glee thing, isn’t deal breaker right? I mean if I tell you I don’t like musicals at all, you will still loves me?

Hate the awards shows! and I’ve never watched those housewives shows either. turning 30 is nothing. Wait till you turn 40. though, actually, that hasn’t been a big deal either. But oh, French onion soup is yummy! you can do it, Issa! Throw some balsamic and fresh thyme in with the onions while they’re sauteing, oh and a teaspoon of dijon–you’ll love it! here’s what i don’t get: adults reading kids books like harry potter and getting TOTALLY wrapped up in it.

    xo

    Issa Reply:

@Amy, So what you are telling me is that, I have no magic wand? That I’m not ever getting into Hogwarts? Amy? I don’t know about you sometimes.

Ha. I love it. I read it when it first came out. But it’s a book. Is just a good kids book. Am not obsessed. Truth is, one of them was sitting on the couch next to me (M is reading book 4) and so I used Hogwarts as my example. Funny though, the rest of it? Twilight and all those? Could care less.

    I don’t get Glee, either.
I was going to watch the awards last night, but my son had other plans.

I love Glee, but I’m totally with on the awards shows and the stupid real desperate housewives shows (actually I don’t like the fake desperate housewives show either). As for turning 30, ya didn’t phase me, I don’t see the big deal with turning 30.

I’ve never ever watched Glee. I love awards shows. The real housewives are not real because they have people to do the folding and kid watching for them. But no one wants to watch us do the real stuff. If I didn’t freak about turning 40 you can’t freak about turning 30. Its really not that bad.

Plus I’ll make you cake any time (for any reason).

I am SO with you on Glee. I tried. I really did. I think I tried watching it twice. I couldn’t do it. And then I tried to listen to some songs on iTunes. Didn’t like them.

And award shows? Whatever. Not my thing.

And I’m just checking, grilled cheese and carrot sticks aren’t dinner? Are you sure?

I find the 30’s to be far far better than my 20’s. FAR BETTER.

    Issa Reply:

@Karen Chatters, I tried watching it once and listening to a few songs on iTunes…but yeah, no.

Oh girl, grilled cheese and carrot sticks are dinner. Am sure of it.

I find award shows annoying. I want an award for doing the dishes every. freaking. day.

You should try that soup. I bet you would surprise yourself.

30 is not so bad. I am closer to 40 than I am to 30 and it’s all relative. I hope I get to share a piece of cake with you on your b-day.

I am with you on the Glee and wards show thing! I am also thinking that if you can’t call grilled cheese and carrot sticks supper then I have a problem. I don’t cook anything with more then about 5 ingredients and takes more then 15 minutes of prep time.

As for the iphone case 6 months early… you said it was on sale and really cute, reason enough for me!

Things I don’t understand… oh such much but lets just start with people sometimes and the worst part is that I have a degree that requires me to work with them all day and attempt to understand them!

    Issa Reply:

@Amber, Oh it’s dinner. As is pancakes. BLT’s. Eggs and toast. Frozen Lasagna. Dinner’s of champions. :)

People are mostly insane. Is my theory at least. They rarely make sense.

    Amber Reply:

@Issa, You just gave me a suggestion for supper and it sounds really good right about now except one problem… I don’t have the stuff to cook it! BLT’s sound great! Frozen lasagna… my favorite!
