11 questions, because 11 is a nice round number….

I’ve always though that these things can tell you a lot about a person.

I see people do posts where they ask their readers questions. I always answer. Mostly because I love to answer questions. I used to buy all those silly teen magazines to fill out the multiple choice quiz’s. I am well known for coming up with random questions and making forcing begging bribing my best friends to answer them. Aren’t you glad I’m not your best friend? Never mind, you don’t need to answer that one.

Have I mentioned I have a problem?

Anyway, I thought I’d give it a try. Please play along if you’re willing. It doesn’t hurt, there are no wrong answers and you won’t be graded. I just sorta want to get to know my readers a bit more.

1. How do you take your coffee?
2. Are you pro or against Blue Cheese?
3. What is your absolute favorite blog to read? Also what is your guilty blog? The one you don’t want to tell me that you adore and read without telling anyone?
4. What would be your perfect meal?
5. If you could vacation anywhere, money was no option, where would you go?
6. Last movie you saw in a theater?
7. What’s a baby name that you have never used and may never use but always wished you could?
8. Favorite flavor of Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream?
9. Last book you read that doesn’t have pictures?
10. How many siblings do you have? Do you get along with them?
11. What is one random thing about you, that I may not know?

I love this stuff too. I take every survey e-mailed and always answer magazine quizzes.

    1. I drink my coffee with lots of non-fat milk and one Splenda.
    2. I am pro Blue Cheese, but I wasn’t always. This is a recent development.
    3. This is a tough one. I read yours without fail (stalker alert!), I still like Dooce and even though she’s controversial and pisses everyone off, I love to read Anna over at abdpbt.com.
    4. My favorite meal is a grilled filet mignon, mashed potatoes and a caesar salad. Bonus points for mac and cheese instead of the potatoes.
    5. If money was no object I’d vacation in Paris and Tuscany. For months. Maybe years.
    6. The last movie I saw in a theater? I think it was Up in the Air.
    7. I always wanted to use the name Emily Grace for a girl. Since that didn’t happen, I named my dog Gracie. Close enough, right?
    8. haven’t had Ben and Jerry’s in years. I don’t know what my favorite flavor is. Do they just have chocolate?
    9. The last book I read was “Orange is the New Black.”
    10. I have one brother. He’s 8 years older than I am and we didn’t really get along as kids because I was the bratty younger sister. But by the time I got to college we became much closer.
    11. You may not know that when I’m stressed out I bit and rip my cuticles until they bleed.

    (1) With whole milk and liquid creamer- yes both, I use the milk to whiten and the creamer to flavor/ sweeten, but if you use it for whitening, you need too much… I like my coffee light. ha.

    (2) Pro. As long as it’s paired well- it’s a powerful flavor.

    (3) Favorite- Attack of the Redneck Mommy… Guilty Pleasure?? hmm, I don’t really feel guilty about any of them! ha. But I am inclined to say Black Hockey Jesus.

    (4) Depends on the day, but I love falafel with cucumber sauce. and a strawberry daquiri on the side, thank you muchly. ;)

    (5) All over Europe! I have always wanted to take an extended vacation and explore over there- I want to see Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Venice, Berlin… *sigh* I would love it.

    (6) The Princess and the Frog. lol.

    (7) I used to always want to name my daughter Autumn, but then it just didn’t seem right when I was preggo. I love the name Aiden, but since I’m Jaden and my nephew is Kaden, I don’t think we could get away with that….

    (8) Strawberry Cheesecake. Love.

    (9) Pretty Dead, Francesca Lia Block

    (10) I have one full brother who’s four years younger than me and one of the few people in life I would die for. He’s about to go into the Coast Guard and I am so proud but hate that he’s leaving! Then I have three half brothers, two of them are on my dad’s side and are 12 and 10, the other is on my mom’s side and is 12, I love them all of course. It’s strange when you’re that much older than them, though, I feel like we didn’t have the chance to be as close as Mitch and I are. Then, I have one stepbrother, who’s two years younger than me… And actually, our parents are about to get divorced but I will consider him my brother forever anyway :)

    (11) I chew the skin around my fingers so I constantly have hangnails. I know, not attractive, it’s a horrible habit and I’ve never quite been able to break it. I figure it’s better than the nails themSELVES, since I like to paint my nails and keep them somewhat pretty. lol.

    Issa Reply:

    @Jaden, I adore Redneck Mommy.

I love the name Aiden. But true story? Two of my cousins used it. In the same year that my middle kid was born. One was born in spring, one in fall. It cracks me up.

I bit my nails until I was like 26 and then for some reason, I just stopped.

    Jaden Reply:

@Issa, lol, two of my friends have sons named Aiden now too, so I definitely missed the boat on that one! I love your answers too, Piper is an AWESOME name, and Phish food? So good. But that question was almost a cheat… I mean, the real answer is: Which flavor of Ben and Jerry’s is NOT one of my favorites?! haha… I have an ice cream weakness. :D

    Issa Reply:

@Jaden, Okay now I’m curious…what are their middle names?

In my family it’s Aiden James and Aidan Tate.

    1. How do you take your coffee?
I don’t. Effin hate coffee. Hate the taste and hate the smell. And I laugh at all of you addicted people.
    2. Are you pro or against Blue Cheese?
    Totally pro.
    3. What is your absolute favorite blog to read? Also what is your guilty blog? The one you don’t want to tell me that you adore and read without telling anyone?
Favourites is everyone in my “I click here.” Compared to some people, I read a really small number of blogs. Guilty blog is Perez Hilton. Every now and then, I check it, and then I immediately hate myself for it.
    4. What would be your perfect meal?
Anything that’s fresh and local. Frozen food doesn’t appeal to me at all. But I like everything from red meat to fresh veggies, and almost every type of cuisine. Unless there’s bananas in it. I hate bananas.
    5. If you could vacation anywhere, money was no option, where would you go?
I’d hit every country that uses Euros. What? You said money was no object, and I love me some Europe.
    6. Last movie you saw in a theater?
The remake of Death at a Funeral that has Chris Rock in it. Good times.
    7. What’s a baby name that you have never used and may never use but always wished you could?
I’m majorly drawn to the name Emmett. But I’ll probably never use it now. Thanks, Twilight, you jerks.
    8. Favorite flavor of Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream?
    Half Baked.
    9. Last book you read that doesn’t have pictures?
HA! I’m in school. So…”Jewish Life in Renaissance Italy” currently. The last fiction was Obsession by Jonathan Kellerman.
    10. How many siblings do you have? Do you get along with them?
Zero. And 6. Zero bio sibs, but 6 friends that I’ve known since before I could remember. They love me, love me, long time. ;)
    11. What is one random thing about you, that I may not know?
I’m a lefty when it comes to writing, but in all sports, I’m ambidextrous. Weird, right?

My mom never, ever, ever let us have frozen food. I hate the taste of 99.9 percent of it. The one exception being Jalapeno Poppers. That is it though.

    1. At home: Decaf with nonfat milk, a tablespoon of cocoa, and Stevia (sweetener). Out/Starbucks: Decaf, nonfat vanilla latte or mocha.
    2. Pro Blue Cheese.
    3. Honestly I don’t think I have one favorite. I like various blogs for different reasons. But if I had to list my top five, yours would be there. As for guilty blogs, there’s not a specific one, but overall it’s Hollywood/celebrity crap. I usually don’t start out looking for Hollywood gossip, but some story catches my eye on the net, and the next thing I know I’m clicking around through different related links, and a half-hour has gone by.
    4. Deep dish pizza from Giordano’s, one of my favorite Chicago pizzerias. (I have yet to find a great pizza, thick crust or thin, in L.A.)
    5. Europe – especially France, Italy, Greece and England.
    6. I think it was Blindside. We tend to rent movies much more than seeing them in the theater.
    7. Arielle. Also Chloe.
    8. I haven’t had Ben and Jerry’s for years, so I don’t even remember what flavors they have. But my favorite ice cream is chocolate with peanut butter ribbons in it. If it has Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in it, all the better!
    9. Jen Lancaster’s “Such A Pretty Fat” (a coincidentally appropriate title to follow question #8)
    10. I have one older brother. We live at opposite ends of the country, but we get along well. I’ve always wished I had a sister too.
    11. I love dogs. I have two – a very tiny chihuahua (3 lbs) and a maltipoo. I want to adopt/rescue a golden retriever in the future. I’m a total sucker for puppies. All kinds. <3

    4. I can’t pick one meal–but it would be vegetarian.
    5. Africa, then do a tour of the world.
    6. Up in the Air. eh.
    7. Oscar and Gabriel. Those were the boys I lost. And those will always be their names. I love the name Piper, by the way.
    8. Chunky Monkey. Hands down.
    9. Razor’s Edge
10.2: older sister, younger brother. They both live 3000 miles away, but we get along fine when we’re together.

8.Half Baked or whatever the chocolate chip cookie dough one is called.

    10. I have a brother. And possibly a sister (long freakin’ story, maybe someday I can share. I’ve never written this before, so that’s a step, right). And not so much. The brother pretty much only was friendly in the weeks leading up to my move. We’d spent the previous 21 years arguing.

I will have to look up that Barbara Kingsolver book. I have liked everything she wrote, except the Poisonwood bible.

ps. Hi. *waves* I love my lurkers, but I’m glad you said hi. The conference is fun. You’ll have fun. But yes, saying hi…probably good place to start. :)

I am related to George Washington and Lewis of Lewis and Clark. Neither had children, but I am directly related to their brothers.

My mom’s side of the family came over to America on some of the first ships. That’s my claim to fame. Ha.
