YMCA Auction and a few other random things

A few weeks ago, I told you all about an auction my buddy Matthew was going to hold for his YMCA. Well it’s up now and there are some great items to bid on. Matthew is a great man and this is for a great cause, so please go and check it out.

My friend Becky (who has a blog, but it’s protected) had her baby girl on Sunday. Olivia was 4 weeks early, but she’s perfectly fine. The little peanut (She is a peanut really; 5 pounds, 17 inches.) of a thing is absolutely beautiful. Congrats to you Becky.

Today is another day. Am I doing great? No. But I’m doing better than yesterday. Thank you to all of you for your lovely comments and emails. I’ll be okay in a day or two.

Dear Anony-mouse #2

I’ve thought long and hard about what to say or not say to you, after that lovely comment you left on my last post. Here’s my thoughts:

Hugs and stuff,
Issa

It’s as good of a reason as any

James: So who are you going for in the Super Bowl?

Logan: Oh shit, tell him honey. hahahahahahaha. You have to hear her reason. This is the best shit I’ve heard all day.

Me: It’s a perfectly good reason. (If looks could kill, I’d be burying Logan right now.)

James: Great. So who?

Me: Arizona.

Logan: Ask her why James.

James: I’m staying out of this one.

Logan: Just ask her.

James: Ok, I’ll play. Iss, why did you choose Arizona?

Me: Because the Grand Canyon is pretty.

They are probably both still laughing. But shit, it’s a great reason in my head.

You know what you get….

When you mix outside light hanging, tree purchasing and trimming, birthday parties and a teething baby together?

A very, very tired lady.

ba-dum-bum

I have just deleted my first post ever…

Today I came here and I vented about something that happened last night. I spewed. It was nasty and vicious and I can’t leave it up. It may be in your readers, for this I am sorry.

Needless to say, for those who missed it (and I truly hope most of you did) Harrison and I slipped on the ice last night and he has four stitches over his eyebrow. He’s fine and he’ll have a great battle wound story to tell, once he, you know…learns to talk. His story will unfortunately not end with and then I got to eat chocolate chip pancakes at IHOP, like the girls story does.

Now, I have brownies to bake and a strawberry cake recipe to find, since Sunday is Morgan’s birthday. Of course it has to be strawberry, because strawberry’s are best in December. Everyone knows that. :) Tomorrow we’re getting a tree and Sunday is the big ole party…we’re doing a little cosmic bowling.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Thursday funny….

The, Issa can’t see straight enough to type coherently, edition. Also, the Issa got NO SLEEP because her tiny baby was up sick all night, edition. Possibly the, Issa’s sinuses are taking over, edition. And maybe also the, Issa can’t let it go edition.

Take your pick.

Please go vote

I’ve had this political post going through my head for weeks. I’ve written it and re-written it so many times. But it’s just not working for me today. There are many others who can and will say it better than I ever could. I’m having some major anxiety issues (some because of this election, some because of other stuff) and I haven’t slept in the last few days and I’m just not in the place to write eloquently.

What, I’ll say is this: Your vote counts. All votes count. Please vote. The only way for change to happen (no matter what you believe in) is to make your voice heard. Please go and vote today.

Happy Halloween

Hey friends, I know it’s been lame here in Issa-ville this week, but it’s my moms fault. She’s been here all week and she’s kinda cool. So I like hanging out with her. I’m thrilled today is Halloween, I adore Halloween. We didn’t do pumpkins, but the kids don’t seem to mind. The rest of our Halloween traditions, we’ll do all of those. Pizza, trick-der-treating, watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and then when the girls go to bed, we’ll eat their candy and watch Hocus Pocus. Which is an awesome movie, that I just might let the girls watch tonight. We’ll see how well they do.

Anyway, I hope you all have a great Halloween. I promise to post some pictures of the kids in their costumes tonight or tomorrow. You know, once I actually manage to take some pictures.

Wishing I was there today

I’m just having an off day today. Am wishing I could sit at the beach all day. That is one thing that sucks about having moved to Colorado. In other news: I’m taking Morgan and Harrison this weekend to go and see my grandma one last time. We’ll fly out Friday afternoon and come home on Sunday. I’m looking forward to the trip, yet dreading it all at the same time. This might be some of the reason I’m having an off day. Who knows? I just wish I could sit and stare at the waves.

I’m going to steal an idea from Debra. She posts her high of the day on most of her posts. Today, I’m not feeling so high, but I’m thinking it’s the perfect day to start doing this.

High: Harrison is 10 pounds. My little heffer baby. He is round and rolly and has huge cheeks. he is my high today.

Halloween might suck this year
